Probably is easier to use with Photoshop also. It is like Dark Table, but produced by Adobe. I would also ask if anyone is using Adobe Lightroom, which is pretty much what dark table is. So, my sugestion would not to go with Dark Table and try something else. There are plenty of open source editors used here and I have seen absolutely beautiful results. You might want to do the initial stretch in darktable, but I am not sure I would even do that. I know there are people that edit using Photoshop, so I would think that GIMP would be a better option. But I think I would seriously struggle with any DSO. That was with lunar images, and that wasy ok. Whoops, I just realized I posted this in the wrong place. I have used Darktable a few times and know next to nothing about it's capabilities but it seems to be a great alternative to Lightroom and it is free whereas Lightroom is $120 per year.
